He was actually a successful opera singer in High School but attended American Academy of Dramatic Arts until he was kicked out because of personal escapades. Stephen Baldwin played small parts in several shows before he got the leading film role in "The Beast of War" which led to numerous other parts in movies such as "Last Exit to Brooklyn" and "Born on the Fourth of July".
